Client: LPA Entertainment, a music company and acting agency located in South Korea.

Brief: To create a new album design for band Dustin’s 1st single album, celebrating their one year debut anniversary. The previous album cover consisted of a simple light grey background and white text, and existed only digitally. The new design was set to release physically.

Process: I began by doing what is now a standard start to my creative process: writing down any themes, colors, motifs, and so on that would suit the visual aesthetics/overall theme of the song and band. I was told to keep the design very simple, so I decided to focus on upgrading the text. Given that the song title was “Burn,” I went with a fire motif for the type design, and kept the rest simple as on the original album cover. Additionally, I darkened the background from the original, and added some texture. I used a combination of Procreate and Photoshop to create, edit and assemble the design.
