More About Me

My love for graphic design began with K-Pop- an interest I used to be shy to talk about. I was 17, visiting New York to tour colleges, still unsure of what degree I wanted to pursue. My dad and I took a break to go visit a K-Pop album store I heard about, and the second I walked in, I was immediately mesmerized. I took in the eye-catching covers, the vivid colors, the different creative shapes and designs that make K-Pop albums so unique from others. Flipping through the pages, even the way the photos and lyrics are formatted inside was beautiful and pleasing to me. The more I looked around the store, the more it felt like an overwhelming epiphany: I want to make things like this. I want my art and designs to be held by people, to be seen on a website, to have real value and use to somebody. Later that day, I began researching the designers behind the albums I liked, and discovered the vast world of graphic design. I truly felt that I had found my life's calling.

From there, I went on to gain a B.A. in Digital Design and New Media at Fordham University. I have continued to intersect my love for graphic design with my love for K-Pop and music in general, growing a small platform on social media from my personal work. These personal projects have even led to landing freelance design projects with a K-Pop entertainment company as well as being a designer and social media manager for a music based magazine. I proudly speak of my personal interests now- they have gotten me multiple opportunities in my career, and I have learned that passion for anything can be leveraged to improve my skills and be a source of creative inspiration.
